ABCM Top Highlights of 2018

Updated: Dec 29, 2018

Another year has come and gone for Allison Boccamazzo Content Marketing (ABCM), and for the first time since launching in 2016 I’ve decided to revisit special moments and memories. God continued to bless my little business this year with sustained growth and profitability. I’ve expanded my clientele worldwide, working with teams in Paris, Singapore, Israel, Canada, the U.K., and the Netherlands.

I experimented with dynamic new revenue streams, including a t-shirt campaign to raise funds for new branding materials. My branded shirts traveled far and wide, from Times Square to a rhino orphanage in South Africa!

This year I also launched a new Speed Strategy Session offering designed to help organizations and entrepreneurs achieve their core business goals. The two-hour assessment allows for an in-depth review of a business’ current state to effectively align with future goals and desired outcomes.

This year I also introduced the Anything and Everything (A&E) podcast. A&E is a platform dedicated to casting new voices, exploring unique areas of passion, projecting thoughtful and intentional ideas, and educating on topics that can help enrich and improve at the individual and global level. This year’s episodes explore the epidemic of fast fashion and the face of modern-day farming. While I only produced a couple of episodes this year, I hope to further the project with valuable new content in 2019.

In 2018, I traveled to exciting industry events including private workshops in L.A. and the annual Small Business Expo where I networked extensively, established new connections, and locked in solid prospects. They were certainly successful!

In 2018 I partnered with two influential platforms, Visual Contenting and the Women in Leadership Nexus (WIL), to contribute content each month as an industry expert and influencer. I was invited to contribute to Visual Contenting—a community that delivers expert marketing insights—as a content marketing expert in November of 2018. Meanwhile, I contribute monthly content to the WIL—a leadership development, community building membership organization—on topics of personal growth, development and leadership for female entrepreneurs and business owners. You can view my contributing page for Visual Contenting here and my contributing page for the WIL here.

Looking ahead, I have two big announcements for 2019…

The first is that I have been invited by LinkedIn to mentor a young adult seeking career guidance and support as part of 10,000 Connections, a campaign designed to match more than 10,000 mentors and mentees across the US. The campaign is being run by LinkedIn in partnership with Starbucks and MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership. Young adults who have a mentor are 55% more likely to enroll in college, 78% more likely to volunteer regularly, and 130% more likely to hold leadership positions. I’m thrilled to have been selected and can’t wait to mentor in 2019!

The second big announcement is that I am working on a new book that helps everyday women unlock their innermost power, confidence and capability for both personal and professional gain.

The inspirational guide (tentatively titled Life After Corporate) is part memoir, sharing my story of going from corporate-ladder-climber to full-time freelancer including key insights and self-taught lessons, and part guide to activating your own personal and professional success. The book will include answers to 20+ questions submitted by real women across the entrepreneurial spectrum, key brand building tools, and sharable inspirational pages that can be framed, used as part of a vision board, etc. I hope to have the book published either in late 2019 or early 2020.

In reflecting on this year, I have come to realize just how productive and fruitful it has been. I’m reminded in this moment how important it is to pause and reflect—to celebrate hard-won victories, embrace purposeful setbacks, and enjoy every second—so that you don’t get caught up in life’s rapid pace. 2019 is bound to be an equally exciting year. I’m thrilled to see what’s in store!

Here’s to your best and brightest New Year yet!
